The Man, the Myth, the Legend… too elusive (and busy) for an actual picture.
Dr. Ryan generally follows the Quarter Horses to the race meets at all of the Louisiana Racetracks. Even with such a busy schedule on the road he still does surgeries and other scheduled appointments each week at the clinic in Sunset, LA.
Outside of work he likes to spend time with his wife and three kids.
Dr. Hill grew up in South Central Iowa, where he showed quarter horses at the local, state and national level. He frequently competed in Western Pleasure, Western riding, Trail, Showmanship and Halter Classes. As a youth, he also dabbled in some hunter jumper and English riding.
He received his B.S. in Animal Science in 1996 and DVM in 2000 from Iowa State University. While at ISU, he was a member of the Equestrian Team, competing on the Horse Judging Team, and worked at the ISU Horse Unit. Upon graduation, Dr. Hill accepted a position with Dr. Baronne Sr. at the Baronne Veterinary Clinic and has practiced here ever since. His main interest are Sports Horse Medicine, Lameness, and Neck and Back pain. Furthering his knowledge after ISU, he completed Vet Spinal Manipulation Therapy at Healing Oasis Wellness Center in 2005 and Acupuncture Training from The Chi Institute.
Aside from his work, Dr. Hill enjoys spending time with his kids Hunter and Devon. At home he likes to tend to his garden, raise chickens, look after his old rescue horses and of course his dogs. Every now and then, you can find him at a renaissance festival or micro brewery.
